Nayara Hangaroa

Apart from the Italian coffee, the location and pool, this place is very solid but not a persuasive 5 star experience. A bit understaffed, everything is nice but there is nothing remarkable. I could only visit on specific dates, but I would recommend looking through booking dot com or some other places for better prices than the website- it is not worth the over 500 dollars a night rate. For those allergic to dogs, be aware that there are many on the Island, and many of them run around the hotel grounds, the pool and outside restaurant seating (maybe not only the hotel's fault, since some tourists feed and encourage them). The rooms are nice but show some wear (rickety lamps), and the place is clean but not spotlessly so (glass of sliding doors). The grounds are lovely and landscaped, at night a bit dark and the bumpy walkways could pose a walking challenge (I used my cellphone on occasion). One doesn't go to Easter Island for hotels or restaurants or to enjoy bargain prices - so it is important to have realistic expectations...

We have never been so sad to leave a place as we were to leave Rapa Nui, and specifically the wonderful people at Nayara. The excursions were beyond compare, the history and culture here are so unique and incredible. The staff at Nayara truly made this the most special week we’ve ever experienced as a family. Hotel was great, had good views, great room and privacy. The concierge was great, guides decent. Overall good stay but not as great as our stay in other Nayara properties. Also we are Vegetarian and had limited food options here. Maybe due to remote location of island they cant get everything. In other Nayara properties, chef used to source ingredients if we asked for anything specific out of the menu. Which we didnt see here. Going with 4 out of 5.

The hotel & resort was kept very clean and tidy at all times. All of the staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. We enjoyed dinner each night with service from Barbara and she was truly wonderful each night. The homemade ice creams they offered were outstanding. All of the excursions were timed well and informative about the island and it’s history, making the total experience package worth it to us. The spa was also great and easy to book for the following day with very fair prices. Overall the hotel and activities they offered were well worth the price of the room and full experience package and made the entire vacation enjoyable on Easter Island.

Love love this hotel- beautiful view and great food too. Staff were super friendly and nice. The rooms were very clean, with beautiful bathrooms and very comfortable bed. The sets were so Special that I could never forget the memories that were made here

Enjoyed our stay at the Hangaroa Eco Village! The location is fantastic - right across the street is the shore - beautiful place to sit and watch the waves crash in! A short walk takes you into town and to the bay where you can watch the surfers catching waves. The Hangaroa Village offers guided tours of the island - highly recommend these tours! Sunset at Tahai, Sunrise at Tongariki, Orongo village, the quarry, and many more places to explore. Our guide, Tiko, was the absolute best - he made the tours fun as well as educational! Very knowledgeable and very good at explaining things to us - we really felt that we got to know the island and the people who live there! When we were done with touring, it was great to relax and have a first class meal back at the Hangaroa Village. Everyone at the Village was friendly and welcoming - made us feel at home! It takes a bit to get to Rapa Nui, but it is totally worth it and staying at the Hangaroa Eco Village is definitely the way to go!

Beautiful hotel and lovely rooms however restaurant service was very very slow which was frustrating when we had limited time for lunch. The staff were very friendly but I think more training is needed.

An "eco-resort" overlooking the ocean on the SW side of Rapa Nui ( Easter Island). We stayed for three nights in room 9, a room with a partial ocean view. We booked the all-inclusive package which included breakfast lunch and dinner as well as all alcohol (except champagne and ultra premium liquor plus anything from mini bar. We also could choose 2 half-day, or 1 full day guided tours from a wide selection. Most of the tours were 6-9 people and took 3 hours. They commenced at 9:30 and at 3:00 leaving plenty of free time to use the pool, have lunch and soak in the beautiful grounds. The large unique room was part of an undulating collection of 5-6 and its interior was all poured concrete including the desk, bed platform, couch and floor with plenty of pillows to soften things up. The AC battled the oppressive humidity and kept us comfortable. The circular tiled shower was very unique and included a seat. The English proficient staff were super friendly and got you signed up for tours after your arrival. They pick you up and bring you back to the airport in time for the once or twice daily flight to Santiago (the only route to the island). Meals and drinks were great. We started our day at the sumptuous breakfast buffet at a reasonable time before heading out on a morning tour at 9:30. Back around noon or 12:30, we usually ate lunch in the bar (great sandwiches and drinks) but having a three-course lunch in the breakfast restaurant was also an option. The Sam spot offered dinner, or there’s a more intimate dinner-only restaurant with just a dozen or so tables with a bit higher-end food. We ate dinner there twice and had great 3-course meals with lovely service. The one negative was the group tours from china also staying at the hotel. Now their tours were always separate as were their meals but they travelled around the property in packs. We never saw them in the bar or at the pool. The pool had a mix of old and newer chairs with some large umbrellas for shade. Pool towels were available. I don’t think it was heated but either way the strong sun that wasn’t really an issue. The location was good as you could walk to the Main Street of the small town and its souvenir shops in around 10 minutes on this very safe island. We even walked to the Polynesian show and walked back without any concerns at 9 pm. Recommended

Very interesting Island with many Historical sites. Location of Nayara Hangaroa is beautiful, highly recommend staying at this Spa Resort. Enjoy the wonderful fresh cuisine at the restaurants, Experience the Island the history of the island and its culture on the excursions to the various places
