The hotel/apar**ents were great, amazing location, fully equipped apar**ent... The only downside was the food, we stayed half board so had breakfast in the Colorado bar, the selection was very limited and they only had one 2 slice toaster which was very frustrating. The staff were also rude and very unhelpful. Dinner was in the piste restaurant, staff were very friendly and there was a kids play area which was great. However the food selection was very poor: 2 meat options, one veg and one potato and the only drinks available were water and coffee. Each meal worked out at £26 per person per night, it was definitely not worth that when you can buy a large pizza over the road for £14! We have already booked again for next year but this time self-catering!

Ruka Finland was a great location, we went with Crystal Ski. Alleged transfer was 25 mins it took us well over an hour. Also had to wait at the airport as our coach was still being used by others waiting to get in to the airport. Very small airport and limited capacity with crystal bringing so many people in a small time frame put a strain on the airport. That said all the airport staff were very helpful and friendly. Crystal communications are poor. Welcome letter had different information than what we were told. Even got a text that contradicted the letter and that was sent late. We went to the welcome talk and again got different info that should have been passed on arrival. That was the last we saw of Crystal reps until departure. The apar**ent was great sauna was great after skiing and room very good. Really great getting into the room with the code. Food was awful. Do not do half-board. Self-catering is the way. Evening meal first night was told to order off the menu. This was wrong and there was a hot (was not hot, lukewarm at best) and cold buffet. Pudding was frozen still one night. Buffet was out long before we got to it and you could tell. That said one or two mains were nice the salmon and lasagna. The fish on Friday was bad. Plenty of places to eat, but not cheep, pizzeria lukewarm was a short walk out of the village and was very nice. Skiing is for beginners but was still enjoyed the skiing. Wind was an issue and the gondola was closed most of the week. Night skiing was also fun.

Second visit to Ruka and stay at this hotel booked through crystal. Location is brilliant. Meters from the gondola and all the shops and restaurants. Rooms are clean tidy and perfect set up with fridge microwave hob kettle etc, everything but an oven in the 2 bed studio. Welcomed the bath and sauna after a ski. Only real criticisms are that the boot room is a bit tight and whilst there is a bar downstairs, there is no real reception area. Bar and restaurant is western themed and a little dark as a result. Breakfast was basic but nice. Could do with more than an a two slot toaster serving the whole restaurant. If I was staying in Ruka village again I would probably comeback here. Kept checking the web cam each night and saw the northern lights twice from the top of slope 6 behind the gondola, Homemade ring doughnuts from the cafe in the centre of town are not to be missed

The apar**ent was in a good location in the middle of Ruka village. We liked the apar**ent's own sauna and balcony. The equipment of the apar**ent was also good. There were a lot of signs of use everywhere, such as the bathroom cabinet and countertop. The sounds of the party crowd and the thump of the bass could be heard clearly in the room so if you're looking for a quiet place, I wouldn't recommend this at least on the weekend. Breakfast was nothing special, only a limited basic selection.

This hotel was the perfect spot to stay in Ruka! Very close to the lifts, boarding was sick! Never been that cold in my life, I’m a born and raised Texan but it sure was fun to experience it. Very comfortable room for my friends and I. Great bar and restaurant downstairs! Staff was very friendly. I did leave my goggles and would love to get them back if possible, I sent an email but haven’t heard back. Other than that, loved the stay and would definitely stay there if I ever find myself in Ruka again.

Overall a pleasant night in Ruka. The room was nice and large and obviously has all the amenities for a lovely skiing stay. What we looked for this time was a sauna in the room, which was great, eating possibilities near, right next to reception and easy access, elevator right in from the parking garage underneath. All good there. Nice and clean. Code access to rooms. Improvement points : it could have been mentioned in the reservation email the information about the parking (now I had to drive up front go in the hotel and ask about it and then peel back into the garage). Minor thing. I don`t recommend the Colorado restaurant for food. Might be ok for just drinking...just get out and do one of the many other alternatives near the hotel. Overall a good stay. Oh one more thing. In smaller rooms the breakfast is included but in the bigger one we had (with the kitchenette) it is not included. Very odd. You obviously can get it by paying separate but...

We stayed for a week in February 2022 as advanced skiers. These apar**ents were wonderful. Spacious, modern and cosy. The sauna was a delightful treat. All apar**ents have a utility area which was unexpected. The bathroom was warm and extremely clean. The entire hotel is essentially brand new. No key required but instead a code is used which is modern and helpful. Wonderful breakfast and dinner options available. The hotel catered extremely well for myself as a vegetarian and my partner who is vegan. A particular mention to Yona who worked in the restaurant who was extremely attentive and went above and beyond to help us, particularly with allergies within our party. We could ski right up to the hotel entrance, next to the Gondola, with the locker room metres away as well as a mini-supermarket. We could not have wished for a more perfect stay. We have previously stayed in Ruka Village but enjoyed Ruka Valley even more.

Went there with crystalski and was shocked we didn’t have to check in or get keys. Received a letter from the rep stating our 5 digit numeric code to unlock the apar**ent door which was really simple and very welcome. Also had a code for our individual ski locker downstairs. The apar**ent was very functional but well laid out. Bed was fine but pillows were small. Make sure you check the drawers as the extra towels are in there. There is no housekeeping all week. We had a studio (rukavillage30 on the official website), so we were entitled to breakfast in the attached Colorado bar. Breakfast was ok but the same each day. Some people came from other apar**ent blocks but nobody ever questioned if we were entitled to a breakfast. It was very relaxed. The drying cupboard in the apar**ent was really handy. The sauna was great too. It seemed like everything was well~thought out to make your stay as relaxed as possible. Use the supermarket for cheaper beer and snacks. At first, we thought the Finns were a bit miserable, as they never went out of their way to be friendly but as soon as you talked to them, they changed their attitude and were very chatty. I guess they are more reserved than we are. All in all, the apar**ents were ideal, especially being a few paces from the gondola and main chairlift. Worth a trip but I doubt we will return as the 30 runs aren’t enough to keep you interested over 6 days of skiing. They were relatively easy compared to the Alps but don’t let that put you off because everyone appreciates a piste to themselves at some point! We paid to see the northern lights but saw nothing. Decided to just walk outside at midnight onto blue piste 6 and saw an amazing aurora on two separate nights for free.

We just came back from ski inn ruka village ,we get the room b203 around 3pm the 26december,nice room like photos and area, after a little turn in ruka village,we came back in our room,around 7pm ,we were tired and try to sleep and around 10pm some music from downstairs bar was horrible till 1am .so if you reserve this hotel ask them to be not instead of the bar .after that it is good résidence hôtel
