Das Buenaventura Resort ist sehr empfehlenswert. Eine total schöne Anlage mit riesiger Poollandschaft von ungefähr 8 verschiedenen Pools mit Poolbars, einem Tennisplatz, riesiger Golfanlage, Spa, Gym und sogar einem Zoo. Das Resort liegt in direkter Meereslage und ist traumhaft schön!

The hotel is beautiful, the service is ok. The beach isn't good, but the pools compensate. The restaurants are amazing, very very good! The bed and the pillows made me suffer the 2 nights!! Tried to relief the pain in the tube, but there was no hot water in it, only in the shower. Went to the spa, very good service and massage!
If you are looking for a nice pool, good drinks, a very good spa and amazing food, is a place to go. But bring your pillow!!

Uns haben diverse Punkte nicht gefallen:
- Das Hotel ist schon lange kein "richtiges" Marriott Hotel mehr.
- Das Personal wirkt faul und unmotiviert.
- Keine Welcome Drinks!
- Es hat viele dekadente Gäste.
- Preisleistung stimmt nicht
- Es gibt Gäste, die lassen sich vom Personal schon vor 08.00 Uhr Liegen am Strand reservieren und mit Tüchern belegen.
- Am Morgen hat es brauner Schaum auf dem Meer (Kanalisation?).
- Keine Annehmlichkeiten am Strand, wie Erfrischungstücher, Fruchtspiesse, Sorbets etc.
- Am Morgen gibt es manchmal Strandtücher erst ab 09.00 Uhr.
- Frühstück, Qualität stimmt nicht! Orangensirup, statt Orangensaft!
- Das Brot ist immer ein bis zwei Tage alt.
- Toaster funkioniert nicht richtig!
- Synthetische Bettwäsche mit 40 % Polyesteranteil und Kunststoffauflage auf der Matratze.
- Das Bett ist unbequem und sehr alt.
Wir können dieses Hotel nicht weiterempfehlen.

While a very pretty resort with a friendly enough staff, the service and dining options were seriously lacking for a resort in the Autograph Collection. Non-meat eaters in our party had very limited options (pasta or mediocre pizza for the most part) with dining. While I appreciate this is a Central American country, if there are a significant number of Americans and Canadians on property, it would help to have menus offered in English as well. We were grateful our kids’ take Spanish in school and were our translators for the trip. Service was hit or miss. Waiting an hour plus for room service or for a response from staff was not a one-time event. Booking water sports was a challenge as no one in the office spoke English (thanks again to our kids and a couple of very kind staff members) and more than once they did not show up on time—even over an hour late—despite confirmations of day and time the morning of.
Still, the resort is clean. The rooms are lovely. The views are beautiful. The water is relatively calm and the beach is spectacular with its black sand. The water sports were great fun. And the value was high.
If they are hoping to attract more US and Canadian tourism, which many said they are, there are some kinks to be worked out which could be easily done if the time is taken. Overall, it was a positive experience just don’t know if we would go back given the multitude of other options.

The property is very remote with a beautiful beach and oceanfront lounge chairs. This was a perfect place to get away from the city. The staff were very accommodating and helpful and kind! Although when you are there you have to eat at their restaurants if you don’t have a car, as there isn’t a town with restaurants nearby. Thankfully their food is good at the resort, so that was fine! Our favorite meal was at el Faro. There is an omelette station every day for breakfast and breakfast was included in the rate. There is a store on the property with groceries, wine and beer, coffee etc. The rooms are nice, but could use some paint/updates. The gym is fine but if you ride Peloton, there isn’t a good bike to use which wasn’t ideal. Overall it was a great escape.

Stayed 3 nights mid-week in October, very few other guests. Weather was almost perfect.

Hotel is located in a large resort community, access to beach, multiple swimming areas, golf courts, bike paths, sports club. Good services offered around hotel and in central square (spa, exercise area, restaurants, deli market). Guest rooms were clean with nice design, good finishings and balcony area for views.

The employees in all areas of the hotel (reception, restaurants, pools, beach, cleaning staff, drivers) are very nice and make sure that you feel comfortable and happy in their premises. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. We had a beautiful time during our stay. This is a place to go back.
