We loved Chaa Creek So much. We stayed at 4 different resorts throughout Belize and Chaa Creek was by far our favorite. The service was impeccable and many of the workers have worked there for years. The food— best food we had in all of Belize. Phenomenal. They give a vast amount of choices for lunch and about 5-6 entree choices for supper. Everything we ate was wonderful. The creatures of the night tour was fun. We also enjoyed seeing the ruins. The bird watching for free was also a great service. The pool is nice, clean, and drink Service at the pool. We will be back!!!!

We were very impressed with the Lodge — beautifully kept up — and every staff member, who were, to a person, highly competent, friendly, and welcoming. The food was varied and delicious, and we appreciated the flexible dining times. The Tikal and bird-watching excursions went off without a hitch. We spotted 100+ bird species during our visit. The Spa was an unexpected luxury and incredibly relaxing. Overall, our experience exceeded our expectations, even given that we inadvertently booked during Easter Week and spring break! Lots of families with children but there was plenty of room for all of us on the premises. We look forward to returning to the Lodge at Chaa Creek.

Chaa Creek is gorgeous, and everyone working there is phenomenal. The tours were a highlight of our trip. Definitely do the ATM tour! Food was fantastic (although I didn't realize the lodge is located so far out of town so unless you wanted to pay for a taxi into San Ignacio you were dependent upon the food at the lodge- luckily it was super good). I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, and I feel bad because this is my fault- I booked a room without A/C. I knew that going in. They are an eco lodge so the cottages don't have A/C. (You can spend $$$$ and get the few suites with A/C). I assumed that the cottages would be individual with tons of windows and situated in such a way as to take advantage of breezes to naturally cool the room (kind of like they do in Hawaii to take advantage of the trade winds to cool their homes). This was not the case. The cottages are duplexes, and only have a few small windows on two sides (the third side had a small window opening up to the outdoor shower so no chance of a breeze). There was zero breeze coming into the room. So when it was 105 F outside, it was 105 F in our room. It was a miserable sleeping experience. They do provide stand fans, but you have to be right in front of it for any relief (and it was hard for some in our family to sleep even with the fans). At $400 a night I expected to sleep well. Again, this was my assumption that they would design rooms to somehow be naturally cooled by breezes. Unfortunately, I won't be back because it was too expensive not to be able to sleep. We were all exhausted after our stay. Not really what you're hoping for with a $$$$$ hotel bill. This sounds like first world problems, I know. But again with such a hefty price tag I didn't want to come away exhausted and anxious to go home (even after the first night). If you have the funds, spring for the suites with A/C. Or, if you love sleeping in hot, humid weather then this is for you. Again, I can't overstate how beautiful the lodge and grounds are, and how absolutely fantastic everyone we met at the lodge is. They were helpful, kind, and exemplary in every way!!!

Beautiful resort with amazing hospitality! The grounds are beautiful. They clearly take a lot of pride in the upkeep of the resort. There are many activities to do and the concierge was very helpful tour guides were great as were the bartenders and pool attendants! Ezra and Leon were very friendly. Pool was lovely. Did not go with kids but this was a very family friendly location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chaa Creek. Every staff member we interacted with was kind, courteous and helpful- so nice they knew us all by name. The food and drinks were amazing, all fresh and so much variety daily. Even the packed lunches we had on our excursions were delicious. We really appreciated the boutique feel of the resort. Even at capacity, the property was so spacious it never felt crowded. The cottage accommodations were lovely- secluded feel and spacious. We really enjoyed our excursions with Miguel (Caves Branch) and Alexi (ATM). They were very mindful of our safety, and so knowledgeable and passionate about the area, including the history and geography. Our kids really enjoyed our days with them. We even happened upon a National Geographic article that featured Miguel. It was super cool that the resort had its own guides and our family had private excursions each day. Even the drives to and from Belize City with Miguel and Darren were informative and entertaining. We have recommended several of our friends and coworkers to the resort so they can also experience the magic.

We had the most fantastic time as a group of 8 friends at Chaa Creek! Everything from the accommodations, tours, activities, and meals was outstanding. What really made this stay remarkable was the service we received from every person at the lodge. It was incredible how they anticipated your needs and responded with the most kind and genuine service!! We felt like part of the family very quickly. This is one of the best resorts around and we would love to go back again!

We stayed at Chaa Creek Lodge. The wranglers at the barn were really great guys. The horses are well loved and often in Belize they are left tied to a tree to starve to death. My daughter had a private ride in the jungle due to her ability. She loved it and they really made her comfortable. The pool is lovely and the staff super. Our room was beautiful and we appreciated the good air conditioning after being in the hot sun all day. We would definitely stay here again.

We recently stayed 3 nights after a great 5 night stint in turtle inn placencia. It was a fantastic stay for our family 14/12/9. We did activities off site but one day was wonderful on property - so much to do - canoes, hikes, pool and horseback riding. The food was local and fresh and the bar and mixed drinks are amazing. The service is so warm, relaxed and helpful.

One word…OUTSTANDING!!! While planning our trip, we opted to stay in a Tree Top Villa. No AC, but we knew that prior to visiting, unlike others would have you believe. There were plenty of fans in the room. For February, it was hotter than we expected, but rarely did we feel uncomfortable. The room itself was amazing and the view of the river was a welcome sight every time we stepped outside. Dining… My wife is gluten intolerant. The staff made sure she was taken care of at every meal. While we are always uncertain, the waiters/waitresses would ask questions and go to others if they were unsure of the situation we presented them with. Overall, the quality of the food was great and my wife ran into no issues with gluten. Offsite tours…While we were at Chaa Creek, we opted to go to Tikal, ATM, and Barton Creek. All three were great trips. Barton creek was maybe our least favorite, but it’s a canoe trip and we had some pretty bad storms prior. The water level was high, but this is out of everyone’s control. We would definitely do the trip again. The ATM trip was absolutely amazing. If you’re not claustrophobic, not afraid of the dark, not afraid of getting wet, not afraid of your muscles being sore the next day, you have to do this trip. Our guide, Alexi, was extremely knowledgeable about ATM and its history. We were very comfortable during the entirety of the tour. The road getting there is pretty rough, but nothing my wife couldn’t handle with a few Dramamine. Lastly, Tikal, our main reason for choosing Chaa Creek. Yumi, our guide, was AMAZING!!!!! One of the best guides we’ve ever had. The history lesson we received while spending time with her was more than we could’ve asked for. Although she runs this tour on a regular basis, you could see the passion and excitement for everything we saw or did during the tour. Grounds tours…We did the night walk twice. It was a really cool experience. We were lucky enough to find tarantulas, scorpions, red-eyed tree frogs, and snakes. None within biting distance, if this concerns you. The guides made sure you were staying at a safe distance and always kept an eye out. We would’ve done this every night if we had the energy. There are many trails to walk, a butterfly exhibit and a museum worth checking out on the property as well. If we weren’t there to see Tikal and ATM, we would’ve been happy with the on-site tours they offered. Overall, our experience at Chaa Creek was incredible. We would definitely visit again without hesitation. I want to thank the staff and guides for such wonderful hospitality during our stay. They definitely made the trip memorable.
