Great stay and bed are huge. However the service of a particular staff was really unpleasant and the hotel system does not tally with my booking at all!
Trip.Com mentioned breakfast for 3 pax since I booked the stay for 3. Yet the staff insist it was 3 breakfast a day for 1 pax and did not mentioned that there was a $ capped for per pax breakfast. She insisted me to pay and did not want to speak to trip.Com herself. Also, insisted me to call trip.com on my own since I booked through a 3rd party. Help was not offered! I have to spent 30mins to seat at the lobby , ruin our itinery for the day and managed this hassle! Horrible experience overall at mar monte hotel.

The Mar Monte hotel is situated in a very beautiful area of Santa Barbara, just across the street is the beach!
We were greeted upon arrival by Lauren who went out of her way to make sure my birthday weekend was special...and it was spectacular.
We did have a few problems with our room, very minor, but they were taken care of immediately.
I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward returning in the future.

The property is definitely not kept up. For a night in Santa Barbara the only thing worth it is how close it is to the beach. The room and the hotel is filthy and old. The service is terrible, had to call the front desk over and over for any service. Definitely would recommend staying somewhere else for $500 a night don’t let the price fool you into thinking you’ll be treated like royalty or the place is pristine.

The Valet staff might have been the best part of staying here. Their restaurant Costa is horribly run, the food over priced, the staff rude as can be! Understaffed shouldn't mean poor experience!
