Best Western John Jay Inn

I rated this base on it's price range. For $120+ per night, I think that it's a good deal. The most important part is the hotel is clean and comfortable.

It is a really nice and quiet spend the night place. Very clean and well distributed rooms. Would definitely stay again.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Location and Property were just ok. We booked the pet friendly room and the entire place smelled so badly of urine that it was hard to stomach. They really need to pull out the filthy carpet so the room can be adequately cleaned between guests and truly make it pet friendly.

Alarm clock not working. Old paint job dripped onto bathroom floor. Very noisy air conditioner. Overall obviously not that well maintained.

When I first arrived to the property I could see an abandoned building that was closed off by only a fence. My wife and I were greeted by the front desk staff as she was polite. We were given a handicap room next to the ice machine and elevator. I asked to be switched and front desk was nice enough to switch us rooms to the third floor. upon getting out of the elevator on the third floor, I notice an awful smell like mold which was generating from the third floor hallway. Once we were inside the room, I noticed that the bathroom wall had a hole in it, the wall mount for the shower curtain was almost falling off, the desk chair was dirty and stained, as well as the other chair next to the television was stained as well. I was about to sit down on the sofa where I noticed that the sofa was also stained and was very dirty. I opened the window and there was no screen as that is a hazard if there are any children wanting to open the window. The rooms are advertised on the internet depicted in a way to attract customers but once you get into the room it is very different. I will be calling ******* for a refund I highly recommend that you do not stay here.

it was the only available room in this small town. Paid $200. Only good thing is rooms have been recently renovated. Why is there carpet in the sink-vanity area? We had a barking dog accross the hallway which woke us up. Didn't know pets were allowed. Parking lot is dirt and dog poop does not get picked up. We almost stepped on one near our car. If you're going to allow pets, surrounding areas need to be cleaned daily. Will not stay here again.

I have been staying at this hotel for over 20 years. They have improved it nicely. This last stay, we were in a suite. It was nicely updated. My only beef was the fold out sofa bed was twin size, more like a single, and was rather mushy. The sofa bed was newer and was comfortable to sit on, but the sleep quality was fair to poor. My father stayed in the bedroom and the king size bed in there was very nice for him. Overall, it was a great stay.

When I checked in my room was not cleaned. They had to call in a cleaning attendant to clean it for us. They advertised the room as able to sleep 4 but the pull out couch was smaller than a twin mattress. The front desk staff was very friendly so that was appreciated.

MATTRESS WAS TERRIBLE. Sleeping on the floor would’ve been better
