Got to the room, both room phones didn’t work, bathroom had an odd smell, and the tv remote had the batteries removed. All annoying but minor.
However on our second night, we came back late for the event we came to the area for and were locked out our room at 1:30am. The door was locked from the inside. We alerted the front desk staff person who scrambled to find the cause. My fiancé and I thought there might be someone inside with our things and potentially dangerous (?). We didn’t know what to think it was late. After 45 mins and the staff person debating calling the cops as they didn’t have security - my fiancé looked up how to unlock the latch from the outside and we got in. Our room had new towels so we knew housekeeping had come after we left. The staff person apologised again, said it must have somehow accidentally fallen when the cleaners left the room and said to come down in the morning. We finally got to sleep at 4am and were woke at 9 am by housekeeping. We asked for them to come back later so we could rest as checkout is at 12. We were woken up twice more when they knocked again at 10:30 & 11:40.
When it was finally time (12) we went down to check out and follow up (and couldn’t call down to check out as the phones didn’t work). Since then each time we call, they say they will call back within an hour or so with meaningful resolution… they haven’t despite calling thrice. The last person said ‘it wasn’t our fault’. Like ??
