Botanika Osa Peninsula, Curio Collection by Hilton

I’ve been a hilton honors for almost 20 years, I know many, many Hilton locations all over the world, but Botanika has exceeded all expectations, the hotel has been designed thinking about the guests’ pleasure the rooms are perfect, I tell you really perfect. The rooms the beds, the living room and kitchen, bathrooms all details were taken care of. And The people are the hotel’s biggest Treasure, I mean they are experts on customer service, they are always with a smile on their face and treat you like a king. The food my goodness the food is superb. Jose runs the show at all restaurants and the menus are incredible. At all locations we met great people Hellen at the pool restaurant, at the main restaurant we met Tatiana all excellent people dedicated to the real customer service, at the reception katelyn, at the massage Monica. We were at a conference for 5 days at this lovely property. The entire program was coordinated by Diana, the lovely event manager at Botanika. From enabling an early check in of our large group to managing every day meals, outings etc, she was thorough, enthusiastic and made this trip memorable. Also important to mention Jonathan, who had so much energy serving our large group during meals to drinks, it made the whole experience fun.

Stayed in this World Class Hotel. The Team lead by the wonderful Diane and Jonathan were absolutly incredible. The food was delicious every sitting, breakfast, lunch and dinner with highest service level. Wonderful stay, highly recommended place to stay.

The resort is beautiful and very well maintained. The service was outstanding. Both Diana and Johnathan were friendly and provided exceptional service. They made our visit very special. Will highly recommend to family and friends. Thank you Diana and Johnathan! -Sean

Wow! Botanika is an amazing resort and Puerto Jiménez a special place. The people that work at Botanika are some of the nicest we have ever met especially Mathew, Joslyn, marciele, yancy. We saw monkeys, macaws, all types of birds just on the property. Would highly recommend night tour, night kayaking, bug museum on property, sloth tour and the snorkeling tour. Botanika is clean, well equipped, beautiful and a special paradise. The food at the resort was delicious! We will miss the tuna appetizer and the lovely breakfast. Would highly recommend staying here and can’t wait to come back again! As a Diamond member we were upgraded and most appreciative of the upgrade.

One of the best hotel resorts we ever stayed in, the rooms are enormous and super modern, the bed is excellent, the breakfast is incredibly good in fact it is the best we had in center America. The pool is large and the hotel grounds are like a national park.

This is an absolutely beautiful resort, very well designed and it does fit into the green and lush environment around it. We generally don't stay at upscale hotels so we were particularly wowed by the various amenities. The breakfast buffet was more than ample; there were even mimosas. I was surprised at how little fruit there was, though. Other hotels we've stayed at in Costa Rica (close to 20) show off a great variety of local fruits and juices. There was melon and pineapple, and apples. One morning there were bananas, no mango, no papaya or any of the lesser known fruits (so many to choose from). The gym is truly exceptional and stunning. Two SPFs of sunblock, and cooling lotion, were offered at the pool. Being a diamond honors member, we were upgraded to a suite. The kitchen was huge and fabulous. We ate at both restaurants and the food is good and nicely presented. Staff are friendly and accommodating. There were some minor glitches. We had to ask for a sponge and dish detergent. I could not justify using the dishwasher for so few dishes, and we have water bottles that have to be hand washed. The alarm had been left set before we arrived and woke us up at 6 AM our first morning. I turned it off, and we were good for one day, but it went off again on our third morning. This has happened to us at other hotels. I wonder why housekeeping staff don't check the alarm before new guests check in. With all the foliage around, I also wonder why there are silk florals in certain places around the property. I could not find soap in the ladies room near the gym. There was a sewage smell in there, but I know that sometimes can't be avoided in remote locations. It was a gorgeous bathroom, of course. My more serious criticisms involve sustainability. A plaque indicating that the hotel has won an award is prominently displayed on the reception desk. I asked staff who bestowed the award and nobody could tell me; I found no information about this online anywhere. It is not sustainable to provide guests with plastic bottles of water. Why not offer reusable bottles, with the Botanika logo on them, with refilling stations on property? The AC is a bigger issue. Not only can it stay on 24/7, at any temperature guests choose, but housekeeping staff lowered our thermostat when they made up our room. I realize that the typical guests at a place like this may complain, but sustainability suggests AC that only operates when a room card is inserted. I didn't expect this at Botanika, but I also didn't expect a plaque boasting an award for sustainable practices. I'm sure that appliances, generators, etc.. are as energy efficient as possible, and there were a lot of motion sensing LED lights. In fact, the best room amenity for me was the mega watt magnifying mirror in the bathroom; I would love to have one of those at home! To summarize, any new development on the peninsula is horrific for the unique and spectacular environment. At
