Very bad hotel review for Studio M Hotel which is managed by Millennium & Copthorne.
I checked in for 3 nights stay in the hotel and I got into my room at 4pm.
Upon checked in at reception, they will ask to scan QR code and linked to their hotel apps which to fill in all guest particulars, even credit card details, upload passport and take selfie of guest for them. Understand that by doing so, saving paper, saving money and saving environment also saving front office staffs’s job. basically guests did all their job.
I went out for my meeting and came back to the room after dinner at outside. The problem happened when I was taking shower at 10 plus at night before bed and found out that there was no shampoo, shower gel in the refilled bottle. I had to make call to hotel service to request for refill and a very rude staff her name is called Yash told me that after 10 pm they do not have house keeping service and hence she asked me to come down to reception to take myself.
I was not told when doing hotel reservations at apps (no highlight), neither at check in for this information. I explained that I couldn’t come down to get because I’m doing my shower in half way.
That staff said that they have over 300 rooms but she’s the only one staff for night shift and she has to be at the desk. all other staffs have off work and she cannot send someone to deliver to the room.
I told her to call back their house keeping staffs and deliver to me because that was not my responsibility to come down to her. Their house keeping did not do the job while their on duty. She keeps saying she cannot do anything about that and only option is guest to come down and take it. She told me that if I requested before 10pm, she can deliver it. She even told me that guests should check if they need shampoo or shower gel as soon as I get the room. Who normally do it, when getting in to the room and check those bottles ?
She could even ask the guest to come down for their faults, yet she cannot provide a call back their staffs to come back for duties which they did not complete?
I’m very disappointed with her attitude and the way she replied to me over the phone rudely.
I raised this complain to their service manager the next day and I asked I would like to speak to Ms Yash the one who handled my request. She took leave until I check out day and no one come back to me about this. I had to check everyday about where is she?
On check out day, I checked again about the proper regulation letter from hotel that after 10 pm if there is no house keeping service, they should have informed to OTA and also on their official website so that other guests could prepare it.
But they cannot provide it to me. They said that’s their only internal document and cannot provide. So Trip also check with them not to have such misinformation about hotel.
Their hotel website put information 24 hour service but that is a lie.
On 2nd night I asked for wine opener, they asked me to come to reception with a bottle and I had to go down to open it. This is 4 stars hotel service.
The 1st night when the FO staff handling the call, hotel service manager Mr Thiru was beside her. I found out this before I my check out and I spoken with the manager and he aware of all his staff’s mistakes. He did not come to me for proper apology or also sending the amenities that I requested. They just shut the case like this.
This is very unacceptable manner.
