Zwar ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen, ist es sicher das beste Hotel in Veracruz (zumindest im Vergleich was ich sonst gesehen habe). Super Lage, direkt am Malecon und in Gehdistanz zum Zocalo. Das Zimmer war mit allen Annehmlichkeiten ausgerüstet und das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist einer der Besten, was ich seit langem gesehen habe.

The location is relatively close to “El Malecón”…. I was just disappointed with their check out process, the manager was very rude, he treated us like the same way he treated his employees.

The staff is really friendly, the restaurant offers traditional meals from Veracruz and the breakfast buffet is a fantastic way to start the day, it includes great "antojitos" and freshly baked bread.
Our room was cozy, we were facing the Mercado de Artesanias, it was nice to see the palm trees and people enjoy their days.
The hotel is located next to a bus stop, so if you're willing to step out of your comfort zone you can ride different buses that bring you to different tourist destinations in Veracruz and even a bit further in Boca del Rio; keep in mind this is a local bus top so no tour guides or anything.
In the end, Emporio Hotel is a nice place to stay, walking distance to everything in dowtown Veracruz, including Mercado Hidalgo, Portales, and if you're into hiking you can walkt to the Acuario via the Malecon.

We enjoyed very much staying at Hotel Emporio. I have a comment about the sliding door of the balcony, it was very hard to open it because the lower part was very very dirty.

Large window to view but one side is cloudy . It needs to be replaced. And needs map and some help for first time tourists. But otherwise great stay. Comfortable bed.

Excellent location. You are in the middle of action.
Easy transportation everywhere.
The room assigned to me had some deficiencies (entrance door, bathroom, curtain rods) that were already reported to the hotel.
I loved breakfast.

Good points - location, breakfast, comfy beds, hairdryer and pool.
Bad points - the shower was very weak. The safe was on the top shelf of the wardrobe so I could hardly reach it and I definitely couldn’t see what i had put in it.
